Our #myopenkitchenstories hashtag challenge really gained some traction this week with over 120 photos telling stories of golden light around their farms and homes. Thanks so much to everyone who joined! Here below are some of my favourites from the week – such beautiful light in each and every one.
So on we move to week three of our little hashtag challenge and this is a goodie- it’s all about getting the human element into your pics. Above you’ll see the lovely Helen who came to help out earlier in the year and made them modeled with this blackberry almond loaf, click here for the recipe ( and ps – if you did fancy making this, and I highly recommend it, you could use frozen berries or poached pear or similar). Because I usually work on my own-some, any chance I have somebody in my kitchen willing to hold/cut/pose then he or she is put to good use quick smart!
And also below, you’ll find the challenge for week 3… You can join in at any time, so for more about this challenge and how to get on board, have a look at week one’s post.
July 17 – The human element
In Module 4/Lesson 3 of the e-course, we talk about how some of the most interesting photos have a human element. So your challenge this week is to bring that into one of your photos. Those of you who came along to our workshop on Friday will have loads of pics to share! Here are some ideas
- Hands holding a bowl.
- An apron-clad torso carrying a basket of produce.
- Dirty gardener’s hands holding a bunch of carrots.
- A smiling child holding out an ice cream.
- Someone kneading dough, stirring cake batter, pouring tea.
- Shooting down and using your own feet by a basket of produce or similar.
